Rutland Water Crewneck Sweatshirts

A peaceful sunrise, taken just after 4am on a May morning from the wildlife hide in the Lyndon Nature Reserve at Rutland Water to the sound of a few waking water birds.

A Winter afternoon view from one of the birdwatching hides at Rutland Water Nature Reserve. Not the warmest of locations, but the view is worth it with the ice covered lake and reeds. Rutland Water is one of the largest man made lakes in Europe and is now a magnet for birdwatchers at all times of the year, but particularly in the Summer months when an increasing number of Ospreys are present.

Rutland is the smallest county in England and Rutland Water is famous for sailing and a wide range of leisure activities. At the quieter end of the lake is this beautiful RSPB reserve which provides a home for many rare bids including a pair of Osprey that return year after year. This charming watercolour painting captures the serenity of the area perfectly.

Rutland is the smallest county in England. The county is bounded to the west and north by Leicestershire, to the northeast by Lincolnshire and the southeast by Northamptonshire. The large reservoir of Rutland Water is popular with fishermen, sailors and bird watchers. Much of the county consists of farmland, including these oilseed fields in May around the county town of Oakham.
