The Balinese is more than a long-haired Siamese cat... although not much more when it comes to appearance. They have the same wedge-shaped head, sleek muscular body, and stunning blue eyes. There is no official record of the Birman cat's origins. The name comes from the French word for Burma where these cats are said to be companions of the temple priests on the Mount of Lugh.
