The Piazza dei Miracoli, formally known as Piazza del Duomo, is a walled 8.87-hectare area located in Pisa, Tuscany, Italy, recognized as an important center of European medieval art and one of the finest architectural complexes in the world. The image shows the Baptistry, Cathedral and the Leaning Tower under a beautiful blue sky and given an artistic filter.

Caffe Ristoro Piccadilly in Pisa, Tuscany. The tables and chairs are empty after a shower of rain, but the area has an old world charm and the brightly painted walls almost glow in the afternoon sunshine. The image has been given a 'peeling paint' filter to match the ancient building. The image is also available without the filter.

I spotted these giant stone wheels in the UNESCO World Heritage listed city of San Gimignano. How exciting to imagine rolling around on these? I love the well worn vibes of this Medieval city.

The towers of San Gimignano were built in the Middle Ages as a sign of power and economic prosperity. Today, in this beautiful hilltop town in Tuscany, there are only 14 towers left out of the 72 original ones. This image features one of these impressive towers with a couple taking in the view from the top.

The narrow medieval street is the main pedestrian street from the gate to the central square and Duomo of the town and is home to many interesting shops, restaurants and gelaterie.

A typical side street in Siena on a sunny September afternoon with a group of men enjoying a glass or two of wine in the shadows while a woman is struggling uphill past them.

Often, walking in the Tuscan countryside near Mount Amiata, to come across, in the autumn, in Landscapes like this: red leaves of the beech trees, sinuous lines of roads and hills, strong colors tend to sienna, blue skies.
