Founded in 1964 in Columbus, Ohio, Nationwise was a chain of auto parts stores in the United States with a loveable mascot known as 'Motor Earl.' In 1974, Nationwise partnered with Columbus-based engine builders, The Rod Shop, sponsoring a series of highly successful drag racecars. In stores, a Rod Shop section was created as kind of a speed shop inside of a parts store. In addition to go fast goodies from all the big names, Nationwise also sold Rod Shop branded performance parts. These parts were typically embossed with NRS (Nationwise Rod Shop), making them easy to identify by collectors, even decades later. The partnership ended in 1987, and less than a decade later, Nationwise became insolvent, and closed all stores on October 15, 1995.

The Fremont Dragstrip was a racing venue for dragster automobiles that was located in Fremont, California in the San Francisco Bay Area, operating from 1959 until the end of 1988. In its final years, it was renamed Baylands Raceway Park. The site lies in the quadrant just south of the intersection of Interstate 880 and Auto Mall Parkway. The track was constructed on land leased from the Southern Pacific Railroad, which had acquired the land from the U.S. Navy after World War II. The Army had constructed a small airfield on the site just prior to the war, which was subsequently taken over by the Navy during the war (Naval Outlying Landing Field Heath). This Pennsylvania-based performance legend started out as a maker of motor mounts for engine swaps and floor-shifters back in 1958, but they steadily expanded their product line through the 1960s. Hurst wheels, Line/Loc, and Swifter Shifter gloves were developed among other items, and later, Airheart Brakes and the Schiefer Manufacturing Company, which made clutches and other driveline components, were acquired. Hurst Performance floor-shifters were skillfully engineered, reliable and stirring in appearance, plus, their marketing was in tune with the times, catering to the flourishing muscle car movement of the 1960s. Their shifters infiltrated the drag racing, stock car racing, off-road racing and many other areas of motorsports.

If you were a hot rodder or street racer back in the late '60s, you probably remember seeing more than a few of these 'Weirdos, Freaks, Wackos, and Creeps Anti-Social Club' stickers on the back of cars at races and meets. It was kind of like the official unofficial club for those that didn't quite fit into the more organized groups. Our updated version still includes Mr. Cyclops, but fresh typesetting and a nice set of crossbones to add a little attitude. Get your freak on!

The first true Grand National model, clad in the model's iconic gloss black with pretty much zero chrome trim, debuted in 1984 and was instantly hailed as a triumph of performance by the automotive press. Pumping out a then-stout 200 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the rear-wheel drive, 3.8-liter turbo coupe blew the doors off just about everything on the road. The Grand National was a subtle sleeper, giving even the Italian supercars a run for their money... and winning almost every time. Despite high demand for these road rockets, the production number remained low before the plug was pulled, so they are still a hot commodity among car enthusiasts and collectors alike today.
