The image remains displayed here in its present form in order to feature the lovely floor tiling and the exquisite wrought iron on the outer doors. On the arms of the cross are the initial letters of the rhythmic Latin prayer: The Holy Cross My Light, Sin Never my Guide. (Crux sacra sit mihi lux! Nunquam draco sit mihi dux!) In the angles of the cross, the letters C S P B stand for Crux Sancti Patris Benedicti (The cross of our holy father Benedict). Above the cross is the word pax (peace), the Benedictine motto. Around the margin of the back of the medal, the letters V R S N S M V - S M Q L I V B are the initial letters, of a Latin prayer: Vade retro Satana! Nunquam suade mihi vana! Sunt mala quae libas. Ipse venena bibas! (Begone Satan! Never tempt me with your vanities! What you offer me is evil. Drink the poison yourself!)

Constructed in 1843 and rebuilt after a 1889 addition was almost completely destroyed by a fire in 1961, Little Trinity Anglican Church at No 425 King St E in the Corktown neighbourhood of Toronto Canada is the oldest surviving church in the city. I did a little trip to the Southern Highlands of New South Wales (Australia) & discovered all these amazing old buildings & country churches in Bowral & Berrima. This is the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Berrima. Designed by Edmund Blacket in a simple Gothic Revival Style, the church is built from stone quarried directly behind it. The stained glass windows came from a church in Cornwall in England and are thought to date to the 15th Century. It was consecrated in 1849. The interior is especially fine with excellent stained flass, wooden fittings, and old brass oil lamps converted to electricity. *Feature* Canon DSLR, Aug 2016.

Anglican Church of St. George Sydney Nova Scotia by Debra Martz St. George’s Anglican Church, the oldest Anglican Church and building in Sydney, holds immense historical significance. Built in 1785 by engineers from the British 33rd Regiment of Foot, it became a parish in 1791. The church, mostly unchanged since its 1873 renovation, holds historical value and features a cemetery where many early citizens of Sydney are buried. Late afternoon sunlight falling on the parish church of St Peter and St Paul in Checkendon, Oxfordshire, England. The church dates from the C12th and is a Grade 1 listed building. It was probably built by the Normans though aspects of the building styles suggests it might have Saxon origins. Inside there are medieval brasses and early C13th wall paintings. One relatively modern window was designed by Lawrence Whistler (1962). Checkendon village sits in the southern Chiltern Hills not far from the Thames. Nikon D7100 Nikkor 18-200

The buildings of this Grade 1 listed church date from the C12th but have, of course undergone periods of restoration. Here we are looking at the east end and the apsidal chancel. Inside, the Rood Screen is made of timber from HMS Thunderer, one of Nelson's ships at Trafalgar.

Tumut River running well from the snow melts. This was taken on our journey to Melbourne on the ‎8 ‎October ‎2019 at ‏‎4:10 PM. After travelling through the drought stricken New South Wales countryside it was a pleasure to see some green. This bridge is now for foot traffic only.

The church of St Nicholas at Remenham in Berkshire. This picturesque church and the suirrounding houses of the village sit close to the banks of the River Thames.The Thames Path (a long distamce trail) passes close by. Remenham is also close to the start of the Henley Royal Regatta course at Temple Island. The church is Norman in origin and records exist of the first rector in 1076. It also received a mention in the Domesday Book (1086). However, the building as we see it dates from 1870.

The church of St Mary sits squarely in the centre of the village of Kingclere in north Hampshire. It dates from about 1120-40 - its Norman origins being clearly seen in its square tower, cruciform plan and small round-headed windows. The circular staircase turret can also be seen in this view. The Church was, however, extensively rebuilt in the C19th - apparently to recreate it as it was in the C12th. The village can trace its history to King Alfred's time as it was mentioned in his will.

St Andrew's Church at Aysgarth in Wensleydale, North Yorkshire. It sits just to the south of the River Ure as it tumbles over Aygarth Falls. The church dates back to medieval times but was rebuilt in 1536, the date of the beginning of Henry VIII's dissolution of the monasteries. Then in 1866 it was extensively restored having apparently fallen into considerable disrepair. It is now a Grade2 listed building. Nikon D7100 Nikkor 18-200
