Apollo Flight Hoodies

Apollo 7 was a human spaceflight mission carried out by USA in October 1968 during the time of the space race. It was the first mission in the Apollo program to carry a crew into space and orbit earth. Even though it didn't actually fly to the moon, it was the important predecessor and led the way for Apollo 8, the first manned moon orbit space flight.

Flight Patches for the 12 Apollo crews: Apollo 1 never left the ground. The 3 crew members died in their space capsule during training. As a result the next 5 missions were all unmanned. Apollo 7 circumnavigated Earth, Apollo 8 looped around the moon, Apollo's 9 & 10 tested the docking manouveres and lunar module in space. Apollo 11 was the first manned moon landing. Apollo 13 was forced to abort its mission and return. Apollo 17 was the last manned mission to vist the moon. They came in peace for all mankind. (see more designs like this in The Blue Box)

Apollo 13 Nasa's third attempt to land a man on the moon had to be aborted when the oxygen tanks in the service module exploded leaving the craft stranded in space. The incident was reported to Mission Control with the understated phrase: "Houston, We Have A Problem". The astronauts relocated into the Lunar Module, looped around the moon and then used the thrusters from the lunar module (intended only to descend to the moons surface), to bring them back home. Apollo / Nasa Mission Flight Patch - In Memorium. The crew of Apollo 1 were burned to death during training when the oxygen in their command module simulater ignited. The mission flight patch was allocated posthumously in memory of the tragic incident. (see more designs like this in The Blue Box)

Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that first landed humans on the Moon. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the crew that landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on July 20, 1969, at 20:17 UTC. Armstrong became the first person to step onto the lunar surface six hours 39 minutes later on July 21 at 02:56 UTC; Aldrin joined him 19 minutes later. They spent about two and a quarter hours together outside the spacecraft, and collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material to bring back to Earth. Command module pilot Michael Collins flew the command module Columbia alone in lunar orbit while they were on the surface. Armstrong and Aldrin spent 21 hours 31 minutes on the lunar surface at a site they named Tranquility Base before lifting off to rejoin Columbia.
