On this mid last century image we can see the advertising campaign used to get tourists into Chicago, Illinois. The picture is of the beach crowded with people and family's enjoying the sand and sea, there is a lady with a parasol in the bottom right of the image. In the background is the city of Chicago. Written is 'Chicago, the vacation city. Illinois Central, the road of travel luxury.'

This last centrury image is now yours to own at home or at the office, beautifully enhanced and restored. The poster is all about Cornwall in southwest England which is famous for its pastries. Back to the image itself we have a picture of a beautiful English day with a yellow sky. Under the sky is a village and all it entails. This picture is brought to us by Jet BOAC, which is the British Overseas Airways Corporation, and shows us the exotic Asian city of Hong Kong. It looks like a normal city street somewhere in Hong Kong, jammed with people and businesses.

In this beautifully restored and enhanced image we have an advert for visiting Japan preferably using the Japanese Government Railways. The image consists of water being the main vocal point with traditional Japanese architecture sticking out of it as well as just at the foot of it. There is a deer in the front left portion as well as mountainous terrain in the background, all of this is under a grey cloudy sky.

This lovingly restored and enhanced work is from the London Tramways in London , England. This is written at the top of the image and at the bottom of the image is "Travel quickly, read in comfort". The image itself is dominated by the colour blue from top to bottom, in the middle is a red double decker with a white winged horse flying alongside it.

In this lovingly restored and enhanced picture we can see an mid century marketing to get people to come and visit Italy asking "do you know the land?". The picture has a map of Italy which has overlaid the background picture which is of the ocean looking into some old roman architecture. There are lemons at the front of the pic and the words stated previously at the top of the page.

This lovingly restored work is from the mid century and was brought to us by Qantas, the Australian Overseas Airline. At the top of the image we have the word Australia and down the bottom is 'So Near By, Qantas'. The image itself is of a couple enjoying the sun on a verandah with a cold drink. In the background is one of the many beautiful beaches that can be found around Austalia with waves rolling onto the sandy shore.

In this beautifully restored image that is now available for you to own in your own home all of the written language is in Japanese so I am unable to tell you what is actually says. The picture itself is of the beautiful nature that is abundant on the island of Japan. This picture shows the ocean filled with boats and other craft under or near an amazing natural tunnel. On top, the land is lush and green, filled with trees. In the mist at the back is a huge hill with a waterfall splashing down the middle into the mist.

'Cuba, Holiday Isle of the Tropics' is what greets you when first looking at this image. The image itself is cartoonish in style yet captivating and alluring all at once. On the right hand side is a lady in traditional dress with some maracas dancing away under a archway. Blue sky fills the background. No sign of the white sandy beaches or tropical blue waters in this image.

This early century image that has been wonderfully restored was used by the White Star to get people interested in sea voyage and cruises when at sea and to travel by way of train when on land. The image has a train in the bottom left hand corner and a cruiseliner in the middle of the poster dwarfing everything else. At the bottom of the image is the lettering 'White Star, The Big Ship Route *By Sea*' and 'LMS, The Best Way By Land'.

In this restored and enhanced image we can see through an opening into a city somewhere in India on the sub continent. India is a very old country and from the buildings and architecture shown off in this image you can see this. The sky is bright blue in the background and in the foreground you can see everyday Indian people going about their lives. There is also two goats in the front of this picture. See India is written in bold at the bottom of the image.

The map is richly decorated with scenes from Greek mythology set within elaborate cartouches at each corner. These scenes are based on drawings by Nicolaes Berchem. Berchem was a pupil of Rembrandt, who trained him in his workshop.

It's a window to what life was like back then, with fewer countries and oceans than we know today.
