I drew this picture of Max Julian from the blaxploitation movie The Mack for a possible comics gig.  I don't know if I expect to get it, but it's a paying job by a writer I really like, so I figured I'd give it a try.  It would be a feather in my cap to land this one, so we'll see.  Either way, it was fun to draw. So here it is!

"Undead Warlock" started out as a warm up sketch, but my fans know I don't hold back very much, so here it is. They also know stuff from my sketchbook winds up in my comics a lot. So stay tuned.

Pessimism is not more "realistic" than optimism. Faith and worry are basically the same thing. Both require believing in things you can't see. Both invite you to predict the future. The difference is what you believe in, and what you choose to do about it. Optimists believe that things will certainly get better if you don't give up. Pessimists lean into the idea that it isn't worth it to try too much because you'll only be disappointed. Both optimists and pessimists predict their own future. I've tried them both, and I don't really recommend either. On my best days, I'm not an optimist or a pessimist. I'm a scientist. I come up with ideas. I test them. I measure the results, learn from the data, and make adjustments.

I drew a character design where the character needed a crazy cat lady shirt, so as a sub-project, I created this one.

This is the moment in the story where the wounded hero lets his guard down and the femme fatale sees the priceless thingamajig he's holding. Will she help the hero, or sell him out to the highest bidder?

I wrote this strip because I keep getting those "pre-approved" loan and credit card offers. As usual, instead of letting myself get frustrated, I wrote a comic strip.

I might become a hacker, just so I could anonymously fix other people's typos on the low. I'm not even kidding. People don't even try anymore...

I love drawing cyborgs. This was one of those Sketch Challenges, but my email list peeps wanted me to make stickers from it, so here it is.

When we talk to people about politics (not recommended, but it happens), we're reminded that a lot of y'all only believe in human rights for yourself, not others. At those times, we find ourselves wondering, do you even democracy, bro?
