The Providence Steam Rollers (also referred to as the Providence Steam Roller, the Providence Steamroller and the Providence Steamrollers) were a professional American football team based in Providence, Rhode Island in the National Football League from 1925 to 1931. Providence was the first New England team to win an NFL championship. The Steam Roller won the league's championship in 1928, which is the latest NFL championship win by a defunct team to date. Most of their home games were played in a 10,000-seat stadium that was built for bicycle races called the Cycledrome.

The Providence Steamroller (or Steamrollers) was an NFL team from 1924 to 1931. They were the last currently defunct team to win an NFL championship in 1928. They had a very logo that's a thin drawing of a dog or dog/man that defies understanding. Assuming the team had continued to play they would have likely gone with a logo closer related to their name at some point. The red stripe is there as a tribute to the tongue sticking out on the original logo.

The Providence Steamrollers were a Basketball Association of America team based in Providence, Rhode Island. As of 2021, the Steamrollers remain the last professional sports franchise from one of the Big Four leagues to be based in Rhode Island. The Steamrollers were one of the original eleven NBA franchises (when the league was called the Basketball Association of America). The franchise posted an all-time record of 46–122 (.274) before folding after three seasons.

Celebrating one of the worst NBA teams of all time, the 1947-48 Providence Steamrollers finished with the outstanding record of 6-42. Their ability to lose was historically great. Truly GOATs.
