Turtle's Records and Tapes was an Atlanta based southern US record store chain that specialized in cassettes, vinyl, and concert tickets and later it rented movies in VHS format. Great gift for crate diggers, vinyl record lovers, old school hip hoppers, turntable spinners and vintage music lovers. License plates promoting Atlanta's WKLS 96 Rock were sold here exclusively, and concert tickets were sold here.

Known as Little London in its early days, Colorado Springs was founded in 1871 as a resort town by Civil War hero, General William J. Palmer. Today, Colorado’s second-largest city is home to stunning natural scenery, endless blue skies, and exciting choices for outdoor adventure. Manitou Springs is a resort town just outside Colorado Springs that is known for its mineral springs and mountain landscapes, dominated by soaring Pikes Peak. We found this one in pretty rough shape in a thrift store in Denver with a date of 1977 embedded in the original art and if you ask us, it looks the part. We redrew the iron on and then tore it apart again to make it look the part, so here it is, road trippers - Colorado Springs & Manitou Springs 1977.

Skunk Records is a Long Beach, California based record label that was founded by Michael "Miguel" Happoldt and Bradley Nowell in 1990. Skunk is affiliated with the spinoff label Cornerstone R.A.S. The inspiration for forming a record label came to Happoldt in 1989 as a way to release music for his band the Ziggens. Happoldt met Nowell shortly thereafter, who insisted on having Sublime backed by the nascent label. Happoldt was selective in choosing other acts, which later included Slightly Stoopid, Juice Bros, Philieano, Toko Tasi, and Paulie Nugent.

Seattle's Cellophane Square in the University District was a haven for band t-shirts, records and tapes, all kinds of underground merchandise and was where you'd buy tickets to punk shows. They opened in the 70s and made it all the way until 2009 before succumbing to the 'digital revolution' that took out out a lot of cool things, including many record stores.

The first Musicland store opened in 1955 in Minneapolis. The company expanded rapidly during the mall boom in the 1980s and continued to grow into the 90s, becoming the US's largest specialty retailer of entertainment products. In addition to Musicland the company also ran Sam Goody, Suncoast, OnCue, and the Media Play Superstore Chains. The Musicland Group was purchased by Best Buy in 2001 at the height of Musicland's success, and unfortunately led to its demise. By then, Musicland numbered over 1300 stores, but Best Buy failed to generate the results they were looking for, losing $85 million in 2002. The name "Hudson" came from Joseph L. Hudson, a Detroit department store entrepreneur and founder of Hudson's department store, who provided the necessary capital and gave permission for the company to be named after him. A total of eight Detroit businessmen formed the company on February 20, 1909, to produce an automobile which would sell for less than US$1,000 (equivalent to approximately $26,656 in today's funds). One of the chief "car men" and organizer of the company was Roy D. Chapin, Sr., a young executive who had worked with Ransom E. Olds. (Chapin's son, Roy Jr., would later be president of Hudson-Nash descendant American Motors Corp. in the 1960s).

Heathers is a 1988 American black comedy film written by Daniel Waters and directed by Michael Lehmann. The film portrays four teenage girls—three of whom are named Heather—in a clique at an Ohio high school. The film has been adapted into a musical and a 2018 television series is currently in production.

Turtle's Records and Tapes was a Southern United States retail chain, based in Atlanta, that specialized in selling cassettes, records, and concert tickets; in the latter years of the chain's existence, it also rented movies in VHS format. Turtle's was recognized for its trademark logo, an upright standing turtle with its neck twisted around in several coils as he attempts to look backward.

Low on sugar?

From its walls festooned with posters, photographs, and rare LPs, to the sound system blasting anything from deep soul to death metal, a visit to Bleecker Bob's was a genuine rock 'n' roll experience even if you were "just looking." Musicians from the Patti Smith Group and New York Dolls are among those who have manned the cash register at Bleecker Bob's, which was finally pushed out by the outrageous Greenwich Village rent. Bob Plotnik passed away on November 29, 2018, leaving behind the kind of legacy few record store owners could even dream of.
