This is a cluster of prehistoric marine molluscs with shallow conical shells found clinging to the rocks of Altamira Cave discovered by Édouard Harlé. Formally it is called ‘Patella Vulgata’, and is better known by its nickname ‘Remains of a meal’. Courtesy Commons.

Oriole in the Greenery ©Debra Martz We were walking the trails at the Bentsen Rio Grande Valley State Park when this Altamira Oriole flew in along the edge. I could not have asked for it to land in a more perfect place.
