Hodge 301. A star cluster in the Tarantula Nebula in one of the Milky Way's orbiting satellite galaxies, the Large Magellanic Cloud. An area known for its turbulence and violent explosions due to the powerful supernovae, the stars in this cluster were born early on in our current wave of star formation. R136. A much younger star cluster, none of these stars are yet old enough to go supernova. The stars here aren't quiet though, emitting fast solar winds that are colliding with surrounding stellar dust and creating spectacular colors. This cluster sits close to Hodge 301, in astronomical terms at least, and provides a direct comparison between two groups of stars in very different stages of life.
