Rothschild's Giraffe, Giraffa camelopardalis rothschildi. Lake Nakuru National Park, Kenya, East Africa. Feeding on Acacia late afternoon. Living in very few areas of Africa these giraffes are endangered. The population is potentially close to meeting the population threshold for Critically Endangered under criterion C, depending on the number of individuals, if any, that survive in south Sudan. There are only about 700 in the wild. They have similar markings to the Reticulated Giraffe but are characterised by unpatterned legs, which looks like they are wearing knee-high white socks.
