View from the "Hegaublick". The landscape is dominated by volcanic hills which were active more than 10 million years ago. On top of Hohentwiel there is Germay's largest ruined fortress. Also on the top of other hills like the Hohenkrähen and Mägdeberg ruins of castles can be visited. The other volcanic hills in the picture are Hohenhewen and Hohenstoffeln. The Hegau is situated in the west of the Lake Constance. On clear days the alps can be seen at the horizon. This is a HDR made out of three photographies. This is a range of hills of volcanic origin in south-western Germany. The climate here is extremely mild - it is practically the warmest part of Germany - and the main occupation seems to be growing grapes for winemaking.
