From the sawdust-covered floors to the giant pickle on the restaurant's marquee, Pickle Bill's truly was 'soooo different' from every other establishment at the time. It offered a true roadhouse experience right in town that managed to do the impossible by attracting raucous crowds and families alike. WWII leaflet dropped on Japanese occupied Philippines warning the population that the Allied invasion will begin soon. The reverse of the leaflet had instructions for the Filipinos to stay away from all Japanese held positions and to move as far inland as possible. The design is available in white or deep blue. Post-war America and new super highways brought about a new-found interest in traveling, so roadside diners started popping up in key locations from coast to coast. One such place in Elkton, Maryland on the freshly completed US 40 was the Elkton Diner, a modern deco style eatery which also played host as a Trailways bus stop. Positioned almost dead center between New York and Baltimore, Elkton Diner was a popular stop for highway travelers for years before being consumed in a fire in 1962.

The Melody Lane Cafes (there were several in the Los Angeles area) were owned and operated by the Pig'n Whistle Corporation. First acquired in 1927, Melody Lane was an established downtown cafe near the music publishing companies and was a popular hangout for musicians and radio personalities. When prohibition was repealed, Melody Lane began building cocktail lounges within their units. They were one of the first Los Angeles restaurants to do so. Titanic is a 1943 German propaganda film made during World War II in Berlin by Tobis Productions for UFA, depicting the catastrophic sinking of RMS Titanic in 1912. This was the third German language dramatization of the event, following a silent film released in 1912 just four months after the sinking and a British produced German film about the disaster in 1929.

Louis Marshall "Grandpa" Jones (1913-1998) enjoyed a long, distinctive career in country music. At age 22, he began to play the Grandpa Jones character, with his high-topped boots, bushy mustache, and suspenders. Ramona Riggins (1924-2015), whom he later married, accompanied him on fiddle and mandolin. Appearing regularly on the Grand Ole Opry and the television show Hee Haw, Grandpa Jones became a well-known character with his banjo-playing, old-time stories, songs, and jokes.

A major part of American and world history, The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of pilots selected to run missions during World War II. They were the first primarily African American Pilot group forming the 332d Expeditionary Operations Group and the 477th Bombardment Group of the United States Army Air Forces. War bond posters were created by the United States Government during World War 2 to raise money for the costs of war.
