The coastline and dunes in Florence, Oregon are amazing. You can climb a hill in the middle of a state forest or national park, and you can see dunes and ocean for miles. The landscape is especially gorgeous at the golden hour, with multicolored sunsets. People also love to ride ATVs and dune buggies on massive natural areas that even have a system of named roads. As you descend down Highway 101, you round a corner and suddenly see a glimpse of the shimmering Sand Dunes of Florence, Oregon. You've likely seen glimpses of dunes along the way, but nothing like the sweeping view that you get as you descend closer to the town. There are amazing national and state parks and lands in and around Florence where you can explore these amazing dunes with ATVs and dune buggies. There are miles and miles of pristine dunes and shoreline to explore Make sure to understand the rules of the road and dune safety, though.
