Monte Grappa holds some of the most impressive war memorials I've ever visited. This is the beautiful cross on top of the main building - worth a visit!

This is my hometown covered in a beautiful mist, on a colourful autumnal evening, viewed atop what we call the "Dante's Hill".

Bassano Del Grappa with its Brenta's river running under the historical old bridge in a beautiful winter holiday evening. I love how the construction workers decided to decorate the whole crane with festive lights for the holiday seasons!

On top of the Monte Grappa where the ossario - the war monument - is looking north ovest towards the valley and the other peaks. You can see some Alps in the distance!

Bassano del Grappa is a city and comune, in the Vicenza province, in the region Veneto, in northern Italy. The artist Jacopo Bassano was born, worked, and died in Bassano and took it as his surname. Bassano Del Grappa is also famous for inventing the spirit Grappa, traditionally an after-dinner drink made from pomace (discarded grape seeds, stalks, and stems). The symbol of the town is the covered wooden pontoon bridge, which was designed by the architect Andrea Palladio in 1569. The bridge was destroyed many times, the last time during WWII. The Alpine soldiers, or Alpini have always revered the wooden bridge and Bassano del Grappa. After the destruction of the bridge, they took up a private collection and had the bridge complete...
