Shelley's Auto Parts was an old school speed shop located in the Mission Hills area of San Fernando Valley. From the mid-sixties until the early '80s, they stocked a wealth of go fast goodies that any hot rodder or muscle car aficionado might need to make their ride go fast or just look like it.

Bill Casler owned Casler Tire Service in Ontario, California where he was a pioneer in creating street legal racing tires by way of custom recaps. These tires would later become known as cheater slicks or more precisely, Casler Cheater Slicks. His signature molds would go on to be THE tires to run in the popular Super Stock racing circuits as well as with hardcore hot rodders and street racers. This design is an homage to Casler's original low-fi logo and a perfect throwback for any motorsports aficionado that knows their stuff. Race on!

Straight out of 1960's Orange, California, The Savage was the real deal.

Based in Anaheim, Orange County Speed Shop opened its doors in 1949 as the post-war hot-rod craze was gaining momentum and quickly became one of the top sources for go-fast goodies on the west coast. They not only had a full-service retail business, but were quick to get into mail order and wholesale as well, distributing all the top brands to shops throughout the SoCal area.

Like a lot of people in post-war America, Al Jerauld was an avid hot rodder looking for go fast thrills. He opened Jerauld's Speed Shop in the late '40s in National City, California. From catalog speed parts to many of his own creation, Jerauld's Speed Shop was the go-to spot in the San Diego area for go fast goodies. When he wasn't selling parts and installing them on customer cars, Al was a dry lakes racer who built and campaigned several cars over the years. One such lakester was the infamous Baby Bomb, which sported a destroked and sleeved '37 V8-60 Flathead with a tiny 88.75 cubic inch displacement that managed to turn some impressive speeds. Among Jerauld's many custom designed performance parts, many are still highly prized today.

Back in the mid '40s, racers and hot rodders Red Wilson and Tony Capana joined forces to start a speed shop in Los Angeles. They called it WILCAP – the first three letters of their last names – and before too long, their shop was well known by gear heads in So Cal and beyond thanks to their innovative products and extensive mail order catalog. In addition to distributing a wide array of speed parts, WILCAP was probably best known for their machining their own line of custom flywheels, transmission adapters, and engine hardware. Eventually, WILCAP was also the place to get nitromethane and alcohol fuels. They made their own custom blends and sold them by the gallon and by the barrel, making getting out to the track that much easier.

As cars became increasingly more common, people's desire to modify them grew. And hot rodding vehicles for more power and better performance wasn't just limited to American coupes and flathead V8's. As economical imports made land in post-war America, they received the same treatment, and in the mid-'60s, Andrew's Air Cooled Performance of Bakersfield, California opened their garage doors with a goal of squeezing as much performance out of compact air-cooled engines of German origin, and from what we've heard, they were very, very good at it.

JS Speed Center opened up in the late '50s in Westminster, California. Other than that they were a traditional old school speed shop, not much is known about them and all that remains is a few forum posts with vague recollections and some old waterslide decals.

El Mirage, located in the California Mojave desert, has been the place to be for all out speed records since the 1930s. More American Graffiti is a 1979 American coming-of-age comedy film written and directed by Bill L. Norton, produced by Howard Kazanjian. The film, shot in multiple aspect ratios for comedic and dramatic emphasis, is the sequel to the 1973 film American Graffiti. While the first film followed a group of friends during the evening before they depart for college, the sequel depicts where they end up on consecutive New Years Eves from 1964 to 1967.

California's Martin Specialty Products started out as a manufacturer of RV products in the early '60s, but changed direction to focus on the burgeoning custom van market in 1972. Initially reworking any of the applicable RV products from their existing line for van use, they quickly caught up with an entire line of new custom van accessories which included everything from body kits and spoilers to sunroofs and porthole windows - everything a vanner could ever want to trick out their ride.

Sav'n Sam's Service Stations were found primarily throughout California, though did make their way into Nevada and possibly Oregon. They were an independent chain that carried 3 grades of gasoline, Regular, Ethyl, and Super Ethyl. The original artwork has been painstakingly recreated from resource material to create a nice, authentic t-shirt where Sav'n Sam can live on!

Russetta Timing Association (RTA) held speed meets at various southern California dry lakes, beginning in 1939 and continuing well into the 1960s. It was an independent association, owned by Ray Ingram, who also owned the clocks. It flourished in part because the more prominent SCTA did not allow coupes or sedans until 1951, and RTA did. In their early years, this made RTA somewhat of an 'outlaw' as the new kid on the block that brought together the clubs with guys running traditional hot rods and not necessarily dedicated dry lake racers.
