Issaquah Kids T-Shirts

Anyone who has lived in western Washington knows that water parks aren't exactly compatible with the weather, and having one open for the few months that you *may* have warm enough temps to enjoy them isn't really economically viable. While that may be the case, that didn't stop developers from building one in Issaquah, Washington back in 1984. Located at the south end of Lake Sammamish and just off I-90 in an area that is now just one ginormous business park, Waterworks Park claimed to offer more than a mile of waterslides. Built on a massive pile of excavated earth from the Mount Baker Tunnel project in Seattle, the park was sitting on an artificial mountain on land that would all too soon be too valuable, leading to its closure in 1988.

We Walk By Faith Not By Sight is an art print I created using 2 Corinthians 5:7 as an overlay on one of my art prints of a statue of Christ carrying the cross. I used a traditional watercolor technique that focuses on subtle colors and brush strokes creating a warm and traditional looking print. The viewpoint of the art print is the garden of a chapel with this statue in it. The setting is a chapel in Issaquah, Washington. The chapel was built as a replica of a 12th century chapel located in St. Moritz, Switzerland by the founder of Boehms Candies in memory of fallen mountain climbers. The Forest Mushroom is a color photographic art print of a mushroom head. I came across this scene while hiking a trail in Issaquah, Washington. The trail starts down in the valley and ascends over 1000 feet to the summit. It winds its way through very thick and dense woods. I love looking at the undergrowth, as you never quite know what you will find. Mine Cart is a sepia tone photographic art print of a mine cart located at the Issaquah Railroad Depot Museum. Issaquah, Washington, situated at the base of the Cascade Mountain Range east of Seattle, was an important stop along the rail line mining activities as well as lumber. I used a sepia tone finish on the photograph for that old rustic look. The sepia brown tones originated with film photography as part of the process to develop the prints in the 1800’s. Today, we can recreate that same vintage look digitally. "Tree and Chapel Door" is a sepia tone photographic art print of a tree and an old arched chapel door. The photograph depicts a scene of the front of an old mission chapel with a pine tree framing the composition. The intricacies of the wood carving on the door are from an era long gone.
