Glastron is a boat manufacturing company and was one of the first manufacturers of fiberglass boats. Bob Hammond, Bill Gaston, Bob Shoop, and Guy Woodard founded this company on October 14, 1956 in Austin, Texas. It was sold to Genmar Holdings in the 1990s and manufacturing was moved to Minnesota.[citation needed] Glastron is known for its boat hull design innovations, including the Aqualift and "SSV" hull designs, the latter of which is still in use today. Glastron's "Glastonbury" boats were featured in the James Bond film Live and Let Die. A boat chase was filmed in Louisiana around the Irish Bayou area. Twenty-six boats were built by Glastron for the film, of which seventeen were destroyed during rehearsals.

The Hiawatha Outboard was sold by the Gamble-Skogmo Auto and Department stores. Hiawatha was their own brand name. Outboards were manufactured by Gale Products and Scott Atwater. The sales years were from 1941 through 1961. In 1969 the Hiawatha brand name re-surfaced, these outboards were made by Eska.

1913 It All Began Here Paul Larson took to boats at the young age of 11, building his first boat on his family farm in Little Falls, Minnesota. He built duck and fishing boats for friends and local community members. 1920's Gaining Steam An increasing demand for his new boats pushed Paul to create his own factory, Larson Boat Works, which stayed strong in the face of the Great Depression. 1930's Wartime Work Paul's plant doubled in size this decade. He also introduced a line of wooden boats and contributed to U.S. efforts in World War II by building training boats and wooden shell cases.

The two are connected by a bridge - or a rowing boat ferry! Weymouth became popular with tourists after King George III's brother built a grand residence there in the late 1700s and the king himself chose to holiday in the town for 14 successive years. Two Little Maids from Poole Number of views as of 22nd January 2018 = 460. 'Maid of Poole' and 'Maid of the Harbour', two pleasure craft moored up on Poole Quay (Dorset, England) for the evening. These vessels are heavily used especially during the summer months for tours around the harbour and trips to Brownsea Island. Date: 19th August 2012.
