What does the popular semicolon tattoo on the net mean? The semicolon tattoo is the tattoo of hope and 'SemiColon project' ('Punto y Coma Project') is the organization behind this initiative. A semicolon, in grammar, means the separation of two parts of a statement related to each other. It has a higher value than the comma, but less than the point and, therefore, is endowed with continuity. Statistics tell that every 12.8 minutes a person decides to end his life in the world. In this sense, the semicolon tattoo becomes a permanent reminder to those who do it that they have chosen to bet and continue with life. This is a drawing done for the Community Reach Center in my hometown. It is apart of the Semicolon Project that promotes suicide prevention and mental health awareness. A pause in life but not an end. We can climb out of negativity and find solace.
