I liked how the pomegranates add spots of pink to the predominate greens, brown and yellows of the painting. Squashes

I thought these squashes from my finca would make an interesting subject for a watercolour. I placed them with dried grass on a shelf in my greenhouse but I thought the composition needed something else so I went back out into my finca and picked the thistles which I put in a small, metal bucket. I think the colours and textures work well together in this still life. Squashes and Gourds Number of views as of 22nd March 2019 = 490. Squashes and gourds are fruits of the gourd family Cucurbita which also includes the pumpkin. The plants were originally cultivated in Central and Southern America but are now grown worldwide. Date: 27th October 2014.
