"Cuco" is the LatinX equivalent of the boogeyman, although the word "coco" is also used, the same word for coconut. In Cosmic Fish, cucos are egg-like creatures who sprout bodies in the darkness and often devour small creatures (be it from animals to even children) yet are also known to attack ghosts.They are hidden throughout the comic if you look closely within the backgrounds, and are often spoken about as a primal fear for many of the characters. (Whereas flowers tend to be a repetitive motif in the comic to signify peace and forgiveness.) Thus the context of the shirt can be taken as metaphorical or literal but I mean, let's admit, it looks pretty wicked.
