I went to Formby point early this morning for a walk and can't believe that I've not been here before. I had a delightful hour with the gorgeous squirrels all to myself! I had a bag of nuts in my pocket just in case...and became very popular! It was drizzly and foggy, but well worth the visit. I put 4 nuts down for this little one, and it ate one then studiously buried the other three :)

*Red Squirrel, May 2019* A red squirrel in woodland at Formby, between Southport and Liverpool, West Lancashire, England. To some extent still under threat from the invasive grey species, the red squirrel can still be seen at selected locations in the United Kingdom, including Formby. Date: 29th May 2019.

This was taken on the same day as Frosty Gate Formby, when the frost was so sharp it looked like snow.
