The 3rd Infantry Division (nicknamed the "Marne Division") is a combined arms and light infantry division of the United States Army based at Fort Stewart, Georgia. Its current organization includes two brigade combat teams, one aviation brigade, a division artillery and support elements. The division has a distinguished history, having seen active service in both World War I and World War II.

In 1983, the battalion moved to Harvey Barracks, Kitzingen. The battalion is equipped with the M1A1 MTB. The unit is scheduled to join the Army Regimental System in 1989 and will be redesignated as 4th Bn, 69th Armor.
