Pangbourne Long Sleeve T-Shirts

A digital pencil sketch of the view looking upriver to the weir at Pangbourne in Berkshire. This picturesque stretch of the Thames has been the subject of many paintings over the years and here it has been caught in the afternoon light of a winter's day. The weir lies next to The Swan public house which has appeared in such books as Jerome K Jerome's 'Three Men In A Boat' Near this spot in Pangbourne, later in his life, lived the author Kenneth Graham who drew inspiration from the river.

The toll bridge, one of only two remaining on the Thames joins Pangbourne in Berkshire with Whitchurch on Thames in Oxfordshire. There has been a bridge here since 1792, the present iron one, constructed in 1902 being the third. The author Kenneth Graham lived at Pangbourne, the river being immortalised in his book 'The Wind In The Willows'.

The riverside here is lined with moored river boats during the summer but now in November it's empty. This is the view downstream from the Whitchurch toll bridge with river heading towards Reading and eventually London and the sea. The River Thames at Pangbourne. This is the scene just below the weir before it flows under the toll bridge at Whitchurch and on past Pangbourne Meadows. There has been a toll bridge here since 1792, the original being wooden. The present iron bridge was constructed in 1902 and has recently been refurbished. This image was captured on a bright afternoon in early February when the Thames was high and flowing fast.

A quiet spot for cattle to drink on the River Pang just south of Pangbourne in West Berkshire. Here the riverside footpath leads south from Pangbourne to Tidmarsh. The Pang, one of England's ecologically valued chalk streams, starts its life on the Berkshire Downs near Compton (depending on rainfall!) and supports a wide variety of wildlife. The toll bridge at Whitchurch on Thames, spanning the river between Pangbourne in Berkshire and Whitchurch in Oxfordshire, England. There has been a bridge here since 1792, the present iron one, constructed in 1902 being the third. It is one of the few remaining toll bridges on the River Thames. From October 2013 until September 2014 the bridge was closed to traffic in order that it could be completely dismantled and refurbished. Nikon D7000

However, two large water wheels can be seen beneath the building, The church, originally built in Norman times underwent an extensive rebuilding programme during the Victorian period. Whitchurch is across the Thames and just north of the village of Pangbourne in Berkshire.

A digital sketch of woodland lit by winter sunshine. This image was created from my original photograph taken on a January walk in Sulham Woods, West Berkshire. This woodland, a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) lies on the hills above the village of Sulham near Pangbourne. Here we are in the beechwoods which overlook the village and give views across the Thames Valley to Oxfordshire. A favourite place for dog walkers - my two labradors loved it here!

The church of St Laurence in Tidmarsh, Berkshire. The church dates from the 12th century and is notable for its fine carved Norman doorway and unusual 12th century polygonal apse. Inside, medieval wall paintings survive in two of the nave's window recesses. The church is very near the River Pang which flows through the village on its way to join the Thames at Pangbourne.

The church of St Laurence in the village of Tidmarsh near Pangbourne in West Berkshire. This is a small 12th century church with many Norman features including a fine carved south doorway. Insider there is a Norman font and carved wooden supports for the belfry. There are also wall paintings in two of the nave windows. The church is very near the River Pang which flows through the village on its way to join the Thames at Pangbourne.

The meadows between Tidmarsh and Sulham in West Berkshire on an autumnal day. This image shows the footpath to Sulham as it winds under the tree before crossing a small stream.
