The Old Lifeboat Station, Poole, Dorset, England Number of views as of 7th September 2018 = 280. Established in 1882 and replacing an older building at Sandbanks, Poole's old lifeboat station at Fisherman's Dock saw 92 years of active service before being converted into a museum. Key events in the station's history: In October 1884, James Hughes, a member of the lifeboat crew, fell in front of the main wheels of the carriage whilst getting out of the lifeboat after an exercise, and was killed. In 1897, a slipway was constructed at a cost of £135. In January 1919, rescued 21 Japanese crew members of an ex-German submarine. Old Lifeboat Station, Poole, November 2022 The old lifeboat station on Poole Quay (Dorset, England) housed the town's lifeboat from 1882 to 1974, and is now a museum. The new station is situated on the western end of the quay near the lifting bridge. Poole is also home to the RNLI college where crews and lifeguards from around the UK and Ireland are trained. Date: 11th November 2022.

No longer used but an historical lifeboat station with many lives saved over the many years it was active.

*Poole Pilot, September 2020* A busy scene at Poole Quay (Dorset, England). The pilot boat is moored close to the police launch, while an RNLI crew on a training exercise wait for the town bridge to open, before proceeding into Holes Bay, where the RNLI college and headquarters is situated. Date: 16th September 2020.
