This is the view back to "The Remarks" from Queenstown Gardens. By this point in my ride I was hungry and freezing (what with it being Winter in July) but the view lured me in for another drawing.

This drawing of Remarks was rather chilly to create! I'd just treated myself to some yummy food at the Boat Shed Cafe and Bistro and then sat on the edge of their garden with my bag of pens. As you can see by the waves, a cold winter window smacked me in the face for half an hour. Totally worth it though

The Remarkables are a mountain range and skifield in Otago in the South Island of New Zealand. Located on the southeastern shore of Lake Wakatipu, the range lives up to its name by rising sharply to create an impressive backdrop for the waters. The range is clearly visible from the nearby town of Queenstown. The highest point in the range is Double Cone (2319 metres). The adjacent Hector Mountains southeast of the Remarkables culminate in Mount Tuwhakaroria (2307 metres). Part of the Tour Aotearoa route saw me pedalling like a lunatic from Arrowtown to catch the 10am Earnslaw cruise. I made it with two minutes to spare and the Captain allowed me on board. The mindblowing scenary on this trip brought me back to live in Queenstown for a few months. I bloomin' love this boat

I was so lucky being able to capture this sunrise. When I woke up around 5.15am to a brilliantly pink room I realised that I was missing a fantastic sunrise over Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu. Luckily we were staying in a hotel on the lakeshore so I was able to run across the road and capture the amazing colours.
