This is an image of a section of the citadel wall in Villefranche-sur-Mer, on the south coast of France. The sky beyond had a sense of storminess about it and yet this structure at a corner of the citadel wall was bathed in strong sunlight and deep shadows. The wonderful multicoloured roof and palm trees completed the image.
