Born in 1886 in Macksburg, Iowa, “The Flying Dude” was Glenn L. Martin’s nickname shortly after his pioneering flight in 1909. Martin continued to build aircraft and test them, and by 1911, he was considered a leader of powered flight. Martin formally founded the Glenn L. Martin Company in 1917 and began producing aircraft for the defense of the US and allies, especially during World War II and the Cold War. During the '50s and '60s, the Martin Company moved from the aircraft industry into the guided missile, space exploration, and space utilization industries. In 1961, the Martin Company merged with American-Marietta Corporation, a large industrial conglomerate, forming Martin Marietta Corporation.

A trip to your neighborhood Katz store meant enjoying a burger and shake at the soda fountain with your sweetheart, or going with your dad on a Saturday morning to get a comic book for you and fishing tackle for him. Or visiting their legendary pet department to look at the alligators, parrots, and monkeys for sale, but ultimately feeling satisfied if you went home with a hamster or a goldfish. “Let’s go to Katz” was a common saying around Missouri. This design is based on some 1947 ad art and includes the famous "Katz pays the tax" tagline.

Zündapp (a.k.a. Zuendapp) was a major German motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1917 in Nuremberg by Fritz Neumeyer, together with the Friedrich Krupp AG and the machine tool manufacturer Thiel under the name "Zünder- und Apparatebau G.m.b.H." as a producer of detonators (Zünder- und Apparatebau is German for Igniter and Apparatus). In 1919, as the demand for weapons parts declined after World War I, Neumeyer became the sole proprietor of the company, and two years later he diversified into the construction of motorcycles. Advertisements of the day proclaimed that their motorcycles were "Motorrades fur jedermann," motorcycles for everyone, and they were right on the money as by 1938, Zündapp had produced more than 200,000 motorcycles.

Lenderink Transport was founded in 1917 in Zwolle, Holland as a horse and carriage carrier. Over the years, Lenderink grew into an industry-leading trucking company with top-notch drivers and well maintained late model equipment operating throughout Europe. Lenderink's primary customers were in the marine engine industry, though also maintained customers in the automotive and heavy equipment space as well. Despite being one of the strongest trucking firms in Europe, as a result of the global economic crisis in 2008, loads slowed to the point that the company was forced into bankruptcy in July 2009.
