Aldeburgh Beach Magnets

The beach at Aldeburgh on the Suffolk coast. A fishing boat is drawn up on the shingle with its paraphernalia scattered around. Aldeburgh, facing the North Sea, was once the home of the composer Benjamin Britten and now hosts a world famous international music festival at nearby Snape Maltings. The town, now a pleasant seaside resort was once a major port and shipbuilding centre until the River Alde eventually silted up, becoming impassable to larger ships. Inspired by an original ink sketch I created of Aldeburgh Beach in Suffolk, England. It reminds me of big skies, shingle, waves and fish'n'chips.

The painting captures the the view from the top of the town centre steps as the sun rises beautifully in the morning.

This was originally a large canvas painting I created of Aldeburgh Beach in Suffolk. The painting is called "Off Season".
