Like antiques? From weathervanes to antique model trains, this shop seems to have it all. I discovered this antique shop in Quebec during a road trip. I was traveling through several small farming communities along the south shore of the St Lawrence River when I found this. It was full of antique metal art and porcelain sale signs. This included old petrol signs popular with collectors of garage art. Of course, I couldn't pass this scene up to make a collection of photos. This design is inspired by job and passion of few of my close friends. Hair stylists, hairdressers, barbers, those arent only jobs, but often lifestyles and that's why few of my designs are dedicated to them. This particular one is inspired by classical .barber shop pole sign. Barber's pole was used by barbers since Middle Ages to signify the place or shop where they perform their craft. The red and white pole outside barber shops references a time when barbers were expected to perform medical procedures such as bloodletting and other that involved cutting. Red represented blood and white represented bandages.

Mr. Wing is a Chinese antique shop owner who was Gizmo's caretaker for an unspecified length of time. Randall Peltzer managed to buy the Mogwai from Mr. Wing's grandson for $200.

The large 1940s era Loback Meat Co. sign that spans the aisle of the main arcade in Seattle's Pike Place Market is well known by locals and tourists alike as you simply can't ignore its beautiful vintage neon glow as you make your way through the market. While the sign is still there decades later, the butcher shop itself, however, did not persevere. Opened in 1946, Loback’s was one of several butcher shops at the Market, selling specialties such as homemade sausages, goose, and luau pigs in addition to the more standard fare of steaks and hams. After a 40 year run, they closed their doors in 1986, and two separate attempts to revive it failed, closing for good in 1989. Nowadays, the historic space is filled by a jelly and chocolate shop.

I saw this antique shop in the quaint shop of Waterbury, VT. I especially liked the contrast of the blue bushel basket and quilt hanging against the red door.

Canandaigua is a quaint town in the Finger Lakes region of New York with picturesque antique shops and cafes. I liked this particular antique shop because of the green and yellow striped awning.
