Fingal Number of views as of 11th June 2018 = 2460. Fingal is a North American Otter. I would love to be able to report that I took this shot on a Scottish loch somewhere. Well, that's almost true. His home is the Scottish Sealife Sanctuary on Loch Creran on the West Coast of Scotland. The sanctuary's main work is the rescue and repatriation of seal pups, abandoned by their mothers around Scotland's extensive coastline. There is also a well-stocked aquarium and the Otter sanctuary there. Sadly, Fingal's sister and companion Sula died last winter, so he's all alone now (sob), apart from thousands of adoring visitors that is. Lismore Lighthouse Number of views as of 11th March 2018 = 4180. Where the Sound of Mull meets the Firth of Lorn, at the southern tip of the island of Lismore, stands this lighthouse, built in 1833 by Robert Stevenson, grandfather of Robert Louis Stevenson, the novelist famous for Treasure Island, Kidnapped and the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The lighthouse beacon has a range of 19 miles and is easily seen from Oban about 6 miles distant. The lighthouse was automated in 1965. Date: 19th August 2008. Well, I like to do the occasional panorama shot, and what better place than Tobermory, capital of the Isle of Mull off the west coast of Scotland, somewhere that had been on my 'must visit' list for several years. Oban Harbour And Town Oban is a resort town within the Argyll and Bute council area of Scotland. Despite its small size, it is the largest town between Helensburgh and Fort William. During the tourist season, the town can have a temporary population of up to over 24,000 people. Oban occupies a setting in the Firth of Lorn. The bay forms a near perfect horseshoe, protected by the island of Kerrera; and beyond Kerrera, the Isle of Mull. Spring Daffodils always a welcoming site after the cold winter months This one was taken on the banks of Loch Awe in Argyll and Bute on the grounds of St Konans Kirk. Title from William Wordsworth 1807.

Inveraray is a really cute town on the north coast of Lock Fyne. The views are stunning all year round and there's plenty of outdoor to explore!
