Heaven Pillar Magnets

Heaven Pillar in Zhangjiajie National Park in China. This amazing natural structure was reportedly the inspiration behind the surreal landscapes that appear in the Avatar movie. This quartz-sandstone pillar is 1,080-metre tall has been officially renamed "Avatar Hallelujah Mountain". It's quite a journey to get to this place. Unfortunately we missed seeing it on the previous clear sunny day & our schedule didn't allow us to return here on a clearer day. The spectacle Heaven Pillar structure looks more impressive from the angle where it looks more like a mushroom rising out of the valley but this angle had slightly less fog on this day. I didn't get to see it on a clear day. Zhangjiajie National Park, Hunan Province, China. Canon 5D MkIII
