A June bug! These big heavy red-brown beetles show up in Maine almost exactly on June 1st every summer. You can hear them every night thunking their big hard bodies against the windows as long as the lights are lit, and the sound brings happy summer vibes, rather than being annoying. As a kid, I loved catching them.
