This is the great view you get if you take the steep steps down into the valley at Katoomba instead of choosing the motorised route. Photographed with a Canon 400D. After the first drop over the cliff, the water flows over this section with lush greenery & orange rocks. I got a shot of this on the way down the stairs when there was more water flowing but later on, on the way back there was less water but the orange coloured rocks were now visible creating a more interesting colour scheme. The Three Sisters are an iconic scene in the Blue Mountains near Katoomba NSW. Due to the stationery cloud movement the Three Sister didnt get any sun on them, so Ive used a bit of license in the manipultion of some colours to emphisise the sandstone highlights. Taken on Tuesday, ‎5 ‎November ‎2019 at ‏‎9:36am with my Fujifilm XT10 and Fujinon 18 to 135mm lens. ISO 400 F stop - f9 Shutter 1/450 sec Minus 1 stop - I take most of my images 1 stop under exposed so that whites do not blow out.

Believe it or not, you can see railings on the top of this rock so I'm guessing there are ladders on the other side! It's not a place that I would feel safe sitting on. I usually avoid Katoomba because it is more tourist oriented & favour the more remote areas. After doing the Ruined Castle walk & feeling very sore from the mountain climbing, we decided to check out a spot that required less effort. This view from the lookout features Katoomba Falls to the left, The Three Sisters & the Scenic Skyway cable car that carries passengers horizontally over the valley 205 metres below! I used a shutter speed of .8 seconds to give the waterfall a silky look which also makes the moving cable car a little blurry. I like this closer view of the Three Sisters & how this view has them sitting on tufts of a grass-like plant, backed by the blue of the mountains & framed to the right by Mt Solitary & a small sapling with white flowers.
