I saw this whilst on a local wilderness walk as a wood carved statue but was hard pressed to capture such an image with a long range telephoto - but surprised by the outcome and pleased with the steady shot and result... decided to work in post and in monochrome... Particularly liked the name "HeartWood" and have painted my bedroom in the colour too... The grain, the texture, the gash, and even the ivy growing across his face ~ gives the impression of stitches and all the battles of the elements that he has endured... yet still, smiling... :)
