The Club Royale was housed in a 1909 building located at the southwest corner of South King Street and Seventh Avenue South and named originally for its Scandinavian owners—Louis Tagholm, John Nelson and Niels Jensen—who operated it as a working man’s hotel. The Order marks St. Patrick's Day (March 17) with a raucous dinner. Members wear a sash in the colors of the Irish flag at official functions. In 1919 the dinner featured an address by the Attorney General. In 1920 the dinner is brought to an early close when it is raided by prohibition agents. ("Nights in Ballygran")

The signature brew was a sparkling Amber ale produced in what was known as Baden style of brewers from Rhine River Valley wine country of Southwest Germany. The first ads for Student Prince called it the aristocrat of beverages, and the royalty of bottled beers. It was also described as a beer brewed for those who know good beer. Ads described a sparkling amber beer, made with toasted, or kiln dried hops, with a subtle hop flavor, and that it, despite the modern brewing equipment, was slowly aged in oak barrels, a signature of Baden style brewing.
