The series final episode reveals that his full correct name is Thomas Sullivan IV, and not III.1 As the title suggests, the character Magnum is a private investigator. In the original series, Magnum was portrayed by Tom Selleck. Jay Hernandez portrays the character (updated to Thomas Sullivan Magnum IV, however not a direct relation to the original iteration of the character) in the 2018 reboot series.
