In the Bible, the Archangel Michael defeats the dragon, which is the devil. Michael is considered the protector and defender of many people. He is an intercessor and helper for every person who believes in the one and true God of Jesus Christ. Moreover, he is the guardian angel of the Church.

Saint Michael

St Michael the Archangel becomes it in the Old Testament and has been part of the Christian tradition since the early days. In Catholic scriptures and traditions, he acts as the protector of the church and opponent of Satan. In John's New Testament revelation, Michael appears in an eschatological context as the conqueror of Satan, whom he falls down to earth. Dominum Deum tuum adorabis, et illi soli servies (You shall worship the Lord your God and serve him alone!). This Bible quote from the Gospels speaks Michael to Satan on the first scroll. Non serviam 'I will not serve' is a phrase that is attributed to satan in church history, which is why it is under the dragon.
