Sirius, also known as Alpha Canis Majoris, is the brightest star in the night sky and is located in the constellation Canis Major. It is a binary star system consisting of a main-sequence star (Sirius A) and a white dwarf companion (Sirius B). Sirius A is about twice as massive as the Sun and about 25 times more luminous. It is also one of the nearest stars to our solar system, with a distance of about 8.6 light-years.

“Share and Enjoy” is of course the slogan of the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation Complaints Division and was displayed in three mile high illuminated letters near the SCCCD which now covers the major land mass of three medium sized planets. Unfortunately its weight was such that shortly after it was erected it collapsed and dropped nearly half its length. The protruding upper halves of the letters now appear, in the local language, to read “go stick your head in a pig” and are no longer illuminated except at times of special celebration.
