A very famous Jazz Fest in the Midwest, the Twin Cities Jazz Festival is one of the few Jazz Fest event that is totally free. They are celebrating there 25th years on 2025, this is my rendering of that special event.

The Minneapolis Millers were an American professional minor league baseball team that played in Minneapolis, Minnesota, through 1960. In the 19th century a different Minneapolis Millers were part of the Western League. The team played first in Athletic Park and later Nicollet Park.

Founded in November 1971, the Fighting Saints played four seasons beginning in 1972–73. The Fighting Saints' last game was played February 25, 1976 at the Civic Center, that is until the team was reborn in 1976 and played another successful season.

German immigrant Gottlieb Gluek used the brewing methods of his home country in the brewery he established along the northern reaches of the Mississippi River in 1857. The business preceded the establishment of the state of Minnesota and the city of Minneapolis. The next year, Gluek produced 3,996 barrels of beer. A March 1880 fire destroyed the brewery. No lives were lost directly but the founder died the following October at the age of 52, taxed by the loss and the effort to rebuild. Only partially covered by insurance, the Gluek family lost $20,000 and used their funds to rebuild a larger, more modern facility and continue the operation.

After 62 years of business, Lee’s Liquor Lounge is shutting down. Once a small corner bar, Lee’s has evolved over the years and become a popular hangout spot for music fans of all kinds — as well as, in recent years, Twins fans attending games at nearby Target Field. On any given day Lee’s Liquor Lounge is filled with people listening to music, dancing, and supporting the venue.

Palomino was a product of Restaurants Unlimited, the Seattle operator that brought us Kincaid’s. RUI, as it is known, has gone through creative peaks and valleys (more valleys) in the last two decades, but in the day was pumping out good restaurants. This was before the locavore era, before the anti-corporate backlash, when the Hennepin Theater District was nascent and Palomino was its watering hole.

Minnesota is quite well known for it's proliferation of Golden Gophers.

Following the departure of the Minnesota North Stars in 1993, the state of Minnesota was left without a professional hockey team. To fill that void, the Minnesota Moose were founded the following year, using the Saint Paul Civic Center as its home arena. After two years in the Twin Cities, the team was sold to a group of Canadian businessmen in 1996 who relocated the team to Winnipeg, Manitoba, and promptly renamed them.

Saint Paul (abbreviated St. Paul) is the capital and second-most populous city of the U.S. state of Minnesota. As of 2018, the city's estimated population was 307,695. Saint Paul is the county seat of Ramsey County, the smallest and most densely populated county in Minnesota. The city lies mostly on the east bank of the Mississippi River in the area surrounding its point of confluence with the Minnesota River, and adjoins Minneapolis, the state's largest city. Known as the "Twin Cities", the two form the core of Minneapolis–Saint Paul, the 16th-largest metropolitan area in the United States, with about 3.6 million residents.

The Minneapolis Marines were an early professional football team that existed from 1905 until 1924. The team was later resurrected from 1929 to 1930 under the Minneapolis Red Jackets name. The Marines were owned locally by Minneapolitans John Dunn and Val Ness, and composed primarily of working-class teenagers. Some of the first games were played at Camden Park, The Parade, and Bottineau Field. Later games were played at larger stadiums such as Nicollet Park and Lexington Park. The Minneapolis Marines are the first Minnesota-based team to join the National Football League, predating the Duluth Eskimos (1923) and Minnesota Vikings (1961).

Edina began as a small farming and milling community along Minnehaha Creek in the 1860s and became one of Minneapolis's first incorporated suburbs in 1888. After years of being a streetcar suburb, Edina saw expanded development as a car-centric suburb in the 1950s and 1960s. Several major corporations, including Dairy Queen, Great Clips, Edina Realty, and Caribou Coffee, have headquarters in Edina, and the city today is known for its shopping, parks, and high quality of life. Edina also plays host to the nation's oldest indoor mall, the Southdale Center.
