Restored in 1971, it the earliest tower mill in England to retain any of its working parts.

Warwick Castle is a medieval castle in Warwick, the county town of Warwickshire, England. It sits on a bend on the River Avon. The castle was built by William the Conqueror in 1068 within or adjacent to the Anglo-Saxon burh of Warwick. It was used as a fortification until the early 17th century, when Sir Fulke Greville converted it to a country house. It was owned by the Greville family, who became earls of Warwick in 1759, until 1978

The blue lias limestone was quarried to make cement and it is around 49 feet deep. The quarry stopped production in 1910 was abandoned in 1923 due to it flooding. The water from the quarry was also used as a feed to top up the oxford canal near by.

This is the resting place of Thomas Arnold (13 June 1795 – 12 June 1842), he was a well known and reforming Head Master of his day at the school. He was the headmaster of Rugby School from 1828 to 1841.

Rugby School was founded in 1567 and moved to its present site in 1750 in Rugby, Warwickshire, UK. This is a black and white image of Rugby school library with Thomas Hughes statue outside. He was the author of Tom Browns school days depicting life at Rugby school. He was a public school boy at Rugby school and started in February 1834, Thomas Arnold the well know reforming headmaster of his day was in charge of the school at this time. Thomas Hughes was an English lawyer, judge and author.

This is a photograph of the Stockton locks flight and a narrow-boat moored on the Warwick and Napton Canal at Stockton, Warwickshire, UK.
