It is built of flints and local field stones with Caen stone dressings and the roof is of lead and slate. The tower, built in four stages, supports a lead dressed steeple which is topped by a weathervane depicting a dove perched upon a coiled serpent and holding in its beak, loves-lies-bleeding. Christmas greeting card of the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge Shropshire England. Early one Spring Sunday Morning I looked out to find snow on the ground. After taking a few shots from the window I realised I should be a mile away at The World Heritage Site of Ironbridge, the first bridge successfully made of iron and now recorded as the Birth of The Industrial Revolution. I emailed copies to the local TV and Newspaper, they both selected the same image now entitled Ironbridge in Spring Snow. I had a canvas printed by a local printer who said, he had a number of inquiries and offered to display it for sale and sell canvas prints. This experience started my interest in sharing my hobby and efforts.

This was a couple-kilometer walk from Skellefteå city centre and we had to find alternate pathways after the ones we wanted to go on (mostly along the river) hadn’t been plowed, but it was well worth it. The ever-present clouds were lit up with the lights of the city and made the church look especially moody — my colleague likened it to the “Church from Hell” because it was so surrounded in red. The other thing that really struck me about it was that the columns and dome made it seem really Greek, and therefore a bit out of place in Swedish Lapland.

On my last night in Skellefteä, I went for a walk with my colleagues to this church. It was a couple kilometres -- not great on my leg that I later found out was broken from an incident a few days prior -- but being able to see it in this eerie light was worth it.
