Founded in 1911 as Electric Autolite in Toledo, Ohio, the company produced generators to power early day buggy lamps. In 1927, they acquired an automotive battery manufacturer, and in 1935, Electric Autolite decided they should get into the business of manufacturing spark plugs. In 1936 the first spark plug was produced at their Fostoria, Ohio plant. Electric Autolite's products were expanded further to include starter motors, ignition systems, and wire and cable products. With a full range of automotive electrical goods in their stables, Electric Autolite began securing supply contracts with leading car manufacturers, providing their products as OEM installations, and allowing Electric Autolite to move into a phase of explosive growth.

Krazy Kat and Ignatz Mouse from George Herriman’s classic comic Krazy Kat, which ran in the 1910’s through the 1940’s. It was a huge influence on later artists like Bill Watterson and was also adapted into a number of cartoons.

Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company by brothers Horace Elgin Dodge and John Francis Dodge in the early 1900s, the brother's machine shop was originally a supplier of parts and assemblies to Detroit automakers. They began building complete automobiles as Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicles in 1914. Their factory in Hamtramck, Michigan, a small city surrounded by Detroit, was the main factory from 1910 until it closed in January 1980. The brothers both died in 1920 and their families eventually sold the company to Dillon, Read & Co. in 1925. The original logo was a circle, with two Greek deltas intertwined, forming a six-pointed star with an interlocked "DB" at the center, and the words "Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicles" encircled the outside edge.

The Bonneville Salt Flats are a densely packed salt pan in Tooele County in northwestern Utah. A remnant of the Pleistocene Lake Bonneville, it is the largest of many salt flats west of the Great Salt Lake. Bonneville Speedway (also known as the Bonneville Salt Flats Race Track) is an area of the Bonneville Salt Flats northeast of Wendover, Utah, that is marked out for motor sports. The salt flats were first used for motor sports in 1912, but did not become truly popular until the '30s when Ab Jenkins and Sir Malcolm Campbell competed to set land speed records.

She is best known for her years as a young woman in New York City, particularly her involvement in a deadly love triangle between railroad scion Harry Kendall Thaw and architect Stanford White, which resulted in White's murder by Thaw in 1906.
