Window of Truro Cathedral in Cornwall, England. It was the first cathedral to be built on a new site since Salisbury was started in 1220. Two foundation stones were laid on 20th May 1880 by the Duke of Cornwall (later Edward VII). As well as the traditional NE corner foundation stone there was also another one laid as an act of faith. The Victorians adapted the classic pointed arches of the gothic style and used modern building techniques to create this truly impressive building.

Graffiti art in Berlin, Germany, is allegedly one of the best in Europe; this big mural painting in Berlin's Kreuzberg quarter was indeed very impressive and in spite of the implication of violence also very beautiful. (Nikon D5200)

The Mountain Chicken is not a chicken at all. In fact, it is one of the largest frogs in the world. Its name comes from strong hind legs which locals find very appetizing – hence their popularity as a traditional Caribbean dish. The frogs have striking patterns which effectively camouflages them against the forest floor when they’re not hiding in burrows or rock crevices. It is well camouflaged against its habitat and remains still for lengthy periods of time before ambushing its prey. It can reach a head and body length of over 20 cm, weigh over 900g and live for up to 12 years. (write-up from Bristol Zoo)

An old cross covered in dry ivy with spring flowers growing around it. I saw this cross in a little Somerset churchyard and was struck by the contrast of natural decay and rebirth - of despair and hope.
