Hugin and Munin are the Ravens of Odin in Norse mythology. The design is from an archaeological find and the pattern in the background was created with bubble wrap and dripping.

For this design, I combined the symbolic meaning of galdr magic and fire sacrifice as symbols of Loki and Sigyn. This beautiful design is suitable for pagan folk, especially Lokeans. It can be given as a Birthday or Halloween present for your friends and fellow witches. Design is also fitting in time for the wheel of the year festivals.

My forty-eighth symbol is a Germanic symbol of winter. The background was made using plastic wrap to get a texture resembling ice.

The Norse Vegvisir, a cipher rune or galdrastafr from Iceland. It helps you find your way and not get lost in bad weather. The background was painted in a dappled style to resemble a crossroads.

The Helm of Awe, Helm of Terror or Ægishjálmur is an Icelandic magical stave that was used by the old Vikings for mental and physical protection and when worn between the eyes in battle, it was said to induce fear to the enemies and confer invincibility to the warrior.

The Valknut is one of the most discussed of the Norse symbols. There are several theories as to what it stands for. The name Valknut is a modern invention and the word roughly means “knot of those fallen in battle” but there is no evidence of use in relation to the fallen. Some say it depicts “Hrungnir‘s Heart” mentioned in Snorri Sturluson’s Prose Edda, and some say it’s related to seidr, a shamanic practice from Scandinavia. It appears on several runestones and memorial stones, as well as on items found in graves. It appears in two distinct forms, unicursal and tricursal, meaning that it’s drawn as one line or as three.

Mjölnir or Thor's Hammer, a Norse Symbol. Thor is the protector of mankind in Norse mythology and Asatru. The hammer has been used as a symbol of protection for a very long time. The meaning of the symbol itself is power, strength, protection (both personal protection and protection of mankind). This particular one is loosely based on an archaeological find from Skåne, Sweden. The background was created using a combination of a gradation from red to blue, and salt texture.

The dragon / snake swallowing its tail symbolizing an endless return and infinity with The Helm of Awe. The Helm of Awe is an Icelandic magical stave invoking the protection of the Norse gods.

The Helm of Awe or Helm of Terror is an Icelandic magical stave. A physical object called "Helm of Terror" is referenced as one item Sigurd takes from the dragon Fafnir's hoard after he slays him in Völsunga saga. It's also one of the most powerful protective Viking symbols.

A Norse cipher rune (or galdrastafr) for courage. A cipher rune is a rune where the actual runes used have been represented by other things, like a certain number of lines. The Merriam-Webster definition of the word courage is; mental or moral strength to venture, persevere and withstand danger, fear, or difficulty. The background was created with color and water blossoms, and some sgraffito.

They say that the all-father Odin discovered the runes. He hanged himself from the world tree, Yggdrasil, for nine nights, pierced in his side by his own spear. Once there he received no aid, no food, no water. A sacrifice of himself to himself. Peering into the Well of Urd, on the ninth night, the secrets of the runes finally became clear.
