Insane clouds with an equally insane reflection, seen on a perfectly still night on Lake Menesjärvi, near Lemmenjoki National Park.

A perfect sky, a lake with a tree-lined shore, and a red cottage. That says Finland to me. All it needs to complete the perfect Finnish scene is a sauna!

It was hard to believe just how awesome the clouds looked with the (almost) midnight sun behind them over Lake Menesjärvi in Finnish Lapland. Unreal.

For me, it's hard to think of summer in Finnish Lapland without thinking of Lake Menesjärvi. I hold my memories of my time there dearly; not only was the weather absolutely perfect, but the lake was one of the best places I found for watching the midnight sun traverse the sky in what should have been the dead of night. Can you believe I took this photo only minutes before midnight?

Two nights at Menesjärvi, two nights of clouds like these. I would have been happy staying for many more nights!

How gorgeous is this? I was lucky enough to get perfect weather for two nights running during my stay on the shores of Lake Menesjärvi, and it could not have been more beautiful. The midnight sun -- to the right of this frame -- made the clouds light up in different colours for hours on end and the lake was so still that it looked like this jetty was just floating in the sky. This night, spent on the shores of Lake Menesjärvi at Hotel Korpikartano, probably had the best clouds of my entire time in Lapland. I was lucky that they appeared on a perfectly still night in such an amazing setting!

I started my day under overcast skies in Interlaken, but once I saw a live webcam image that showed what it looked like above the clouds at the top of Schilthorn, I couldn't buy my gondola ticket quickly enough. I had to slip and slide my way across the snow to the outer platform at Piz Gloria to get this view of the mountains peeking out of the sea of clouds, but the reward was worth it for the few of us that did make it there.
 Interestingly enough, this was one of the prominent filming locations for the Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service," the only Bond film to feature Aussie actor George Lazenby as Bond. Even at the top of the Swiss Alps there's no escaping reminders of home!

Is there anything better than an early morning stroll alongside the ocean? This image was captured early one day at Goodrington Sands, Paignton, Devon.

Kingswear is a village and civil parish in the South Hams area of the English county of Devon. The village is located on the east bank of the tidal River Dart, close to the river's mouth and opposite the small town of Dartmouth.

Waking up early at the beach to watch the sunrise over the horizon is always a must. Even on a cloudy morning something amazing is likely to happen at any moment. So peaceful and relaxing.
