The lush vegetation represents being outdoors along any trail. The actual location is the Nokiidaa Trail along the East Holland River in East Gwillimbury Ontario. The Nokiidaa is an active 20 km trail that extends from Holland Landing through Newmarket to Aurora Ontario. An easy walk or trail ride along any section of the trail. Enjoy! An old game and poultry shop in Beverley. I was born in this small market town in the flat plains of East Yorkshire. It was the centre of my universe, no other world, except Hull and occasionally York, existed beyond. And I remember small shops, a shop for every reason, friendly and real and family-owned. This one fascinated me, filled with the still, lifeless bodies of game, with the promise of delicious roast lunches. Women chatted, dressed in raincoats and headscarf, strong Yorkshire accents floating above my infant head, occasionally cooing over me, I paint to feel I am there once more, amongst its cobbled streets, hearing the bells of the Minster. The work is rich in colour, bright and hopeful and nostalgic, an ideal gift and a perf...

Driving out the city, along long, flat roads, I come to a huge pub, reminiscent perhaps of an Elizabethan manor, solid and imposing, English through and through. I have a pang of longing, for times long ago, for the smell of pub food and the tang of yeast and beer. The work is rich in detail, both simple and intricate. The pub sits under a wide East Yorkshire sky, with the promise of the flat plains and wolds beyond. A great addition to any collection of English art, a fantastic souvenir of Hull.

Two riders exercising their horses on a beach. The beach could be anywhere but it just so happens that it was Faristhorphe Beach on the East Coast of England. Taken in the summer of 2017. A single frame was processed initially in Affinity Photo on my iPad pro, the RAW file was developed so that the back ground disappeared and left only a hint of the beach in the foreground that helps to keep some context. The saturation was then reduced to zero and the contrast adjusted along with the shadows and highlights. The Affinity file was then transferred to Photoshop using Affinity Photo for Windows and the final touching up carried out in Photoshop. Taken on a Canon 70D EF-S 55-250 mm Zoom 1/250th Second f/25
