Egyptian Ibis Mugs

Thoth is the Egyptian god of writing, magic, wisdom, and the moon. He was one of the most important gods of ancient Egypt alternately said to be self-created or born of the seed of Horus from the forehead of Set.

This design is based off a piece of Ancient Egyptian artwork located in The Met. It depicts the god Thoth in his Ibis form standing by the Feather of Maat (or Ma'at). I've recreated the design in my own style making a unique take on "traditional" renderings of Egyptian designs!

Thoth was the god of the moon, sciences, sacred text, and knowledge. Depicted as an ibis or a baboon. Sometimes associated as Enki.

In on hand Hermes carries the Caduceus, a winged rod with two fighting serpents entwined about it; in the other, the immortal Emerald, upon whose surface was inscribed in raised letters the sum of philosophy. The figure wears the ancient Egyptian Masonic apron according to the pattern discovered by Belzoni, the eminent Egyptologist. The two small circles contain the forms and symbols most closely associated with Hermes. In the upper circle is the ibis, whose curious characteristics have caused it to be particularly associated with the medical art. In the initiation ceremonies the Egyptian priests wore masks in the form of the ibis head to signify that they represented the attributes of Thoth, or Hermes.
